About

Anna White is a Melbourne based artist. Her educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) from RMIT, both a Master of Fine Art by research (2008) and PhD in Fine Art from Monash University (2015).

She has been the recipient of several awards including the Monash University Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in a Masters Thesis (2008), an Australian Post Graduate Award (2009), Winsor & Newton Studio Scholarship (2013) and an Australia Council ArtStart Grant.

Her work has been selected as a finalist in the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize at the Bendigo Art Gallery (2011 and 2009), The Stan and Maureen Duke Art Prize, Gold Coast Art Gallery (2009) and The Alice Prize, Araluen Centre in Alice Springs (2008).

In 2012 she worked with New York based artists Terry Winters and Eve Sussman, in their studios. She has undertaken artist residencies at Bundanon and Laughing Waters. In 2011 she won a commission to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Department of Microbiology and Biochemistry at Monash University.
