About

Anna White is an artist based in Australia. Her educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT, both a Master of Fine Art by research (2008) and PhD in Fine Art from Monash University (2015). 

She has been the recipient of several awards including the Monash University Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in a master’s thesis (2008), an Australian Post Graduate Award (2009), Winsor & Newton Studio Scholarship (2013) and an Australia Council ArtStart Grant.

In 2020 and 2021 she received City of Melbourne, quick response grants to complete two short films In my father’s garden and In my mother’s house.

She has undertaken artist residencies at Bundanon and Laughing Waters. In 2011 she won a commission to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Department of Microbiology and Biochemistry at Monash University.    

Since 2016 her practice has expanded beyond painting to include performance, dance, photography and film.
